THE NEXT COLOUR LANGUAGE

We celebrate the winning teams of Warsaw Faculty of Fine Arts

This time's theme has challenged students to explore how colour can communicate, influence behaviour and change the relationship between product and user. Students from 3 design schools have been working on the challenge: NABA Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, Milan - Zuyd University, Maastricht - and The Faculty of Fine Arts in Warsaw.

Today, we are celebrating the winners of the EPDA AWARD FUTURE PACKAGING of The Faculty of Fine Arts in Warsaw! Congratulations to Nina, Buket and Aleksandra on their great concepts:

1st Place - LIF

by NINA MISIJUK

Introducing a multifunctional lamp powered by carbon dioxide, which is simultaneously converted into oxygen. Designed to support resilient energy generation in times of growing demand, this innovative product combines sustainability with functionality. A subtle gradient on the interior tube creates the impression of light emerging from within the lamp, enhancing its ambient effect. When opened, the colors displayed on the interior tube intuitively reveal the lamp’s various functions, offering both a visually engaging and user-friendly experience.

2nd Place - ANCHOR

by BUKET CELENK

Anchor is a smart collar designed to keep cats safe during earthquakes. When strong shaking is detected, the collar emits an ultrasonic sound that encourages the cat to stay still instead of running away. This allows owners to quickly locate and secure their pets in emergency situations. A clear black-and-orange color coding enhances visibility and acts as an intuitive safety signal. Combining safety-focused functionality with intuitive design, Anchor strengthens the bond between cat and owner while helping ensure a faster and more reliable response when it matters most.

3rd Place - YOUR GUT

by ALEKSANDRA MACHALEWSKA

YOUR GUT is a targeted line of probiotic supplements designed to support specific needs. A daily probiotic shake delivers beneficial bacteria directly to the gut, helping to improve skin condition, support digestive balance, enhance mental well-being, restore the microbiome after antibiotic treatment, and promote overall health.

Congratulations to all the students who took part in this edition. Your projects show how color can move beyond aesthetics to become a powerful language for communication, behaviour, and design innovation.

A big thank you to the tutors and everyone supporting the epda FUTURE PACKAGING AWARD and helping shape the next generation of packaging designers. A special thank you to Rob Vermeulen, former President of EPDA and project lead of the EPDA Future Packaging Award until the 2025/2026 edition.
