It's all about people: Federica Marroni

1. Highlight of being a member of EPDA?

It’s like expanding your own work team. We usually interact mainly with clients, but it’s nice to widen the circle, exchange ideas with colleagues and professionals from our own field, or discover new things in areas we’ve never explored before.

2. Design Inspiration?

I have a soft spot for vintage, so with every project I always try to look at what came before it in visual history. For Barzini, for example, you can see how Fortunato Depero’s advertising posters have been a source of inspiration.

3. Favorite Creative Tool or Design Gadget?

It’s the obsession. It’s that tickle and urge to use that shape, that font or that color combination and see the project come to life. No matter the tool, it can take any form, from paper templates to 3D and animations.

4. Fun Fact?

I used to work as a hair model in my twenties, but now I dye my hair just for fun. After all, color is still part of my work, just in another form.

5. Hobby or Interest?

Like a typical millennial, I’m a proud plant mom, a passion I grew through years of dried-up, sacrificed plants. From a former “black thumb,” I can now call myself a decent grower. I’ve learned care, patience, and how to slow down, but above all, it has the power to clear my mind, which is very useful during periods of tight deadlines.

6. What is your favourite colour combination and why?

It’s impossible for me to pick just one. It depends on my current obsession: at different times it has been pink and red, coral and green, or neon yellow and white. The common thread is that I’m often drawn to unusual contrasts that require a second, deeper look to be truly appreciated.
