It's all about people: Paula Pozza

Let us introduce you to the wonderful Paula Pozza, Founder & Creative Director at Studio Zak, known for blending Brazilian flair with Italian finesse:

1. Highlight of being a member of EPDA

What I love most about being part of EPDA is how genuine thecommunity is. The relationships go far beyond the conferences,  people truly support one another and don’t see each other as competitors. The packaging world is small, and it’s always great to reconnect with familiar faces at different events. These exchanges have even influenced the way we approach PR at our studio, after having insightful talks with fellow members.

2. Design Inspiration

Having studied both Graphic and Product Design, I’m fascinated by how form and function meet. I’m inspired by timeless producticons from Eero Saarinen, Verner Panton, Mies van der Rohe, Niemeyer and others. I love how packaging design feels like the perfect union between graphic and product — it connects structure, aesthetics, and storytelling in one piece.

3. Favorite Creative Tool or Design Gadget

Before studying design, I was always drawing. Whenever I feel stuck, I go back to paper and pencil — it’s where everything begins. I also love browsing interior design magazines; it’s fascinating to see how trends move between interiors, products, and packaging.

4. Fun Fact

I’ve been a vegetarian and Ashtanga yoga practitioner for almost 20 years. It’s what keeps me grounded and calm, especially during intense deadlines or complex projects. Oh, and I’m also a fairly decent salsa dancer!

5. Hobby or Interest

I’m learning to play the piano,  it’s something completely different from design, which I love. Classical music challenges both sides of the brain: reading two lines, coordinating both hands… it’s humbling, but it sparks creativity in a whole new way.

6. Favourite Colour Combination and Why

Pastel pink and black — they’re actually Studio Zak’s brand colours. It’s a mix of softness and rebellion, a little bit of cuteness with alot of sass.
