Sustainability is a wide field and it is worthwhile looking at it from different angles. We invite to a 3-session series of epda LIVE FLASHs, in which our guest speaker Chris Sherwin, reboot innovation, will throw light on the topics below. If you are interested in attending, please get in touch with Claudia at claudia@epda-design.com!
Sustainability I: How clients and brand leaders tackle sustainability, 16 June 2020, 12 am to 1 pm CET
Sustainability has emerged as a new driver for growth and innovation, but one-size of sustainability does not fit all and clients and brands are tackling this in different ways. How do designers and creative consultants navigate through this? This presentation will unpack the different business cases and client segments on sustainability and show how practical case studies of how leading clients and brands – both big and small – are doing well by doing good.
Sustainability II: Sustainability means rethinking the way we design/stand-aside human-centredness, it’s time for humanity-centred design/how to design sustainably, 7 July, 12 am to 1pm CET
The world has declared a climate and ecological emergency, but is design really fit for this new sustainable future? This asks some fundamental questions about design and design thinking today: about how our recognised tools and methods – like Human-Centred Design, Empathic Design and research, Customer Journeys mapping – are really fit-for-purpose? This presentation will question some of the everyday tools and approaches for good design, showing how these must change to design more sustainably.
Sustainability III: Sustainability: a game-changing agenda for breakthrough innovation, 28 July, 12 am to 1pm CET
The 20’s are being described as the #DecadetoDeliver on sustainability. This is urgent. The days for incrementalism and continuous improvement are over; sustainability is a radical agenda requiring disruptive, radical, breakthrough innovation. This final presentation will issue a call to arms to designers and creatives for a step change on sustainability, showing examples of brands and innovators doing this today.
