THERE ARE GOOD REASONS TO NOT ACCEPT AN UNPAID PITCH
There are not many agencies that have never participated in unpaid pitches. Or poorly-paid ones. At first sight, it might sometimes seem reasonable to go for it. “After many years in the business, I can say unequivocally, it never pays off.” says Malgorzata Leniarska Pawlik-Leniarska, Managing Partner at Dragon Rouge Poland. “Even if you actually win the pitch. At the end of the day, you lose, as well as the whole design community.”
Ask yourself:
* Do you believe you will make a client more successful?
* How does it make YOU feel?
* Does it help you build credentials?
* What impact does it have on the design industry?
* How much does it cost?
As epda we would like to encourage designers to reject working for free and to self-confidently price and sell their services for their own sake and for the sake of the whole design industry. Let’s join forces!
